Do Bingo Balls Have Letters?

Bingo balls typically have at least 26 (though some may have as many as 80) numbered squares. The squares are usually divided into five groUPS of nine, with each group containing four squares.

However, some games use a “jumbo” bingo ball, which has 80 squares.

Some games use a different layout, with each column having five squares instead of four. This layout is used in American-style bingo, where the numbers 1 through 15 are on the top line, the numbers 16 through 31 are on the second line, and so on.

European-style bingo uses a different layout, with each row having five squares. This layout is used in British-style bingo, where the numbers 1 through 12 are on the top row, the numbers 13 through 26 are on the second row, and so on.

Regardless of how the balls are arranged, each player must mark off one square from each group as their bingo card is filled. When all players have completed their cards, the player with the most bingo points (or some other criteria) wins the game.
