Does Ho-Chunk Have Bingo?

Ho-Chunk, a Native American tribe, has a centuries-old tradition of playing bingo. According to tribal tradition, the first Ho-Chunk to cross the Wisconsin River into what is now Iowa was Bingo.

He was followed by his dog, which dropped a ball of yarn at each stop along the way. Bingo was considered the first Ho-Chunk shaman and is believed to have brought healing and prosperity to the tribe.

Today, the Ho-Chunk continue to play bingo all over Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota. The tribe has even created its own version of the game called “Ho-Chunk Bingo.

” And while it’s not clear whether or not Ho-Chunk have actually won any major tournaments – or even come close – bingo is still considered an important part of tribal culture.
