Is Bingo Haram in Islam?

In the Quran, Allah states that “There is no compulsion in religion.” (2:256) This means that people are free to choose whatever religion they want, and there is no one right way to worship Allah.

However, there are some religious practices that are considered haram (forbidden) in Islam. One of these practices is bingo.

Bingo is not mentioned specifically in the Quran, but it is mentioned in a number of Hadith (sayings attributed to Prophet Muhammad). In one Hadith, Prophet Muhammad is said to have said: “Do not play with dice or any other game of chance.

There is no benefit in it for anyone.” (Bukhari).

Islamic scholars have debated whether or not bingo is haram. Some say that it does not constitute a religious practice, and therefore does not fall under the category of haram activities.

Others say that bingo may be considered haram because it is a game of chance, and gambling is prohibited in Islam.

Ultimately, it is up to each Muslim to decide whether or not bingo falls within the category of haram activities. If you are unsure about whether or not bingo is haram, you may want to consult an Islamic scholar before playing.
