The Farmer or the Dog Named Bingo?

In a recent study, it was found that when it comes to naming a pet, humans overwhelmingly choose male dogs over female dogs. Moreover, when it comes to naming a pet after an animal, humans overwhelmingly choose farm animals over dog breeds.

Interestingly enough, when it comes to naming a pet after a common household object, humans overwhelmingly choose kitchen objects such as pans and pots over other types of animals or objects.

While these results may seem surprising at first, they can actually be explained by several factors. For one, people are more likely to own a male dog than a female dog, and males are typically more interested in hunting and chasing prey than females are.

Additionally, people are more likely to name farm animals after things that they are familiar with, such as their own families or homes. Finally, many common household objects are associated with kitchens – such as pans and pots – which may make them more appealing to humans than other types of animals or objects.

While these results may suggest that the Farmer or the Dog Named Bingo is typically the human’s choice for pet name, this is not always the case. For example, in another study conducted by researchers at Queen Mary University of London, it was found that when it comes to choosing between male and female pets names, people overwhelmingly choose female pets names.

This suggests that while humans may prefer male dog names over female dog names, this does not always hold true in practice.
