When Was Bingo Invented?

Bingo was invented in the early 1800s. It is believed to have been created by a Catholic priest, Father Charles Edward Monro. Monro created a game called “The Landlord’s Game” which involved drawing squares on a board of paper and calling out numbers as players put their markers into the squares. Players could win by filling in all of the squares, or by matching numbers.

Bingo evolved from this game, and became popular in British pubs and clubs in the early 1900s. It eventually spread to other countries, and is now enjoyed around the world. Bingo is now considered a traditional pub game, and can be found in many different places, including casinos and bars.
