Who First Invented Bingo?

Bingo was first invented in China in the 13th century. The game was called “bing-bao” and it was a popular pastime for the upper classes. The Ottoman Empire is also credited with developing Bingo, as it is believed that they took the game back to Europe in the late 1800s. However, it was not until 1876 that Charles Darrow, a saloon owner in Oregon, created a version of Bingo that was played with cards. Bingo spread quickly throughout North America and Europe, becoming a popular pastime for all social classes. In 1934, J.

E. Parker created a Bingo card with 25 squares and the word “Bingo” printed on it. Bingo rapidly became an international phenomenon and by 1939, there were over 2,000 Bingo clubs operating throughout the world. In 1962, the American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA) created official rules for Bingo and it has since become one of the most popular casino games in the world.
