Who Played Bingo in the Banana Splits?

The Banana Splits were a popular American rock and roll band in the 1960s. They were formed in Los Angeles in 1964, and consisted of vocalist/guitarist Frank Zappa, bassist George Duke, drummer John “Jabo” Starks, and keyboardist Ray Collins. The band’s most successful album was 1968’s The Banana Splits Adventure Hour. That album featured the song “Bingo!”, which became a hit single and reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Bingo was written by Zappa and sung by Duke. The song is about a bingo game that the band members play together.
