Who Said Bingo Bongo?

Bingo Bongo is a children’s song about a bongo that plays music. The song was written by Jeanne C.

McEvoy and Peter Pears, and first appeared in the 1951 children’s book Bingo Bongo, The Wonderful Book by Jeanne C. McEvoy and Peter Pears.

The song has been popularized by numerous artists, including The Wiggles, Shirley Bassey, Connie Francis, The Pointer Sisters, and Kenny Rogers. In 1997, Bingo Bongo was inducted into the National Recording Registry by the United States Library of Congress for its “cultural, historical or artistic significance”.
