Why Is It Called Bingo?

Bingo is a popular game that many people enjoy. There are many different variations of bingo, but the basic game is the same.

Players take turns drawing cards from a deck and marking off numbers or letters on their cards. The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins.

Originally, bingo was called “bingo drum.” In China, people would play this game using drums to keep track of their scores. The first written record of bingo dates back to 1801 in England.

At the time, it was called “bingo.” In 1932, American Bingo Association president Harry Woolworth renamed the game bingo after he saw a card with the word “bingo” on it at a card game.
