Is Bingo Gambling in Virginia?

There is no definitive answer to this question, as it depends on the jurisdiction in which you reside. However, in general, bingo gambling is not currently legal in the state of Virginia.

This prohibition is based on a state law that was enacted in 2006 and prohibits any form of gambling that involves the use of financial instruments or other forms of wagered monies. In other words, bingo is not considered to be a form of gambling under this statute.

However, as with all lAWS, there are exceptions to this rule. Specifically, the 2006 law does not prohibit bingo if it is conducted within the confines of a charitable or religious organization.

Additionally, certain forms of bingo may be authorized by state or local governments as long as they do not involve financial instruments or other forms of wagered monies. Therefore, it is important to consult with a legal expert if you are interested in conducting bingo gambling in Virginia.
