Was Bingo the Dogs Name or the Farmers Name?

Bingo was not the dog’s name, nor was he the farmers name. Bingo was a bullmastiff who belonged to the DeRoche family on their dairy farm in UPState New York. The DeRoche family used Bingo as a working dog, and he helped them milk the cows and haul hay. They also used Bingo to protect their property from bears and other animals.

One day, while Bingo was out chasing a bear, someone took him home and named him. The DeRoche family continued to use Bingo as their working dog until he died in 1998 at the age of 17.
