Math Bingo is a game that is played by students in elementary and middle school classrooms around the world. The game is simple; students draw a card with a math problem on it, and then try to find the matching number on their bingo card.
The game can be played as a class competition, or as a way to practice math skills.
There are many variations of Math Bingo, but the basic rules are always the same. Students start by drawing a card with a math problem on it.
For example, one card might say “Find the total number of candy bars in an assortment of 25 candy bars”. Once they have drawn their card, they place it face down in front of them.
Next, each student in the class flips over their bingo card. There are usually fifty-six squares on a bingo card, and each square has five numbers printed inside of it.
The numbers 1-6 are printed at the top of the card, and the numbers 7-12 are printed at the bottom of the card.
Students need to find the matching number on their bingo card, and then put a checkmark next to that number. Once all of the students have done this, the teacher can reveal all of the cards, and tally up how many students matched each problem. The student with the most matches wins the game!
